Anatomy Lesson

Two year olds are amazing little creatures. The boys are 2 and a half and are learning new things every day! I love hearing what they have to say about things. Most recently, Jacob decided to give us an anatomy lesson at dinner. We were talking about going to take a bath and if they wanted bubbles or colored water. Jeffrey was telling us about wanting bubbles but not wanting to be rinsed off with the shower attachment. Out of NOWHERE, Jacob tells us that pee pee comes out of there. Russ and I, both being confused, dared to ask, "Where?" He points and says, "there." He continues by telling us that pee pee comes out of his pee pee thing and poop comes out of his hiney. Trying SO hard not to laugh, I told him that he was right. He seemed so pleased with himself!!

In other news, we have started taking the boys to Home Depot and Lowe's for the Kids' Workshops. They are free, which is great, and the boys are starting to get interested in tools. The got a Handy Manny Toolbench from Santa, but they get to use real tools at the store. Today they made coin holders at Lowe's. I was amazed at how well they both hammered the nails in and slid the pieces together. They are so proud of their projects. They wanted to take their coin bank to Grumpy so he could put money in it. We spent an hour sorting coins and talking about their names. Jeffrey could name the penny and put it in the right slot by the end. Jacob couldn't be bothered with a little old penny. He went right to the quarter (mint money at our favorite Mexican place) and could identify it and put it in the right slot.

We are in awe of what they know and dumbfounded by where they learn it. This is such a fun age and every day is something new!
